Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
So the Aldi will be in the industrial park, last road before Tapleys Hill rd as your heading west, will they be putting in traffic lights at that corner? I'm guessing somewhere around this roundabout - https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-34.9349288,138.5225595,3a,75y,169.09h,88.82t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s...

[COM] Re: #COM: Westfield West Lakes Expansion | $95m
Cotton on Mega is about the same size as Best and Less, about 1/4 the size of a floor of David Jones at West Lakes. H&M would be more suited then Cotton on Mega to the site unless they are going to divide up the space, I doubt David Jones would give up the ground floor, it has mall access on two...

Not sure if this has been posted before https://www.dpti.sa.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0004/271174/Final_Draft_Railway_Crossing_Safety_Strategy_2016.pdf Rail crossing incidents are more then double on the Gawler line then any other line and the worse level crossing is........... [COM] Re: PRO: Oaklands Rail Overpass
The Oaklands crossing is a bottleneck, some days it's okay and you only get held up for an extra minute or so other times it's 10min +. The bottle neck is just not the crossing but the complex diagonal / morphett roads intersections. You get stuck turning right from diagonal onto morhett(agnoal) roa...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
Best solution I think is remove Warradale - the new Oaklands will be on top of the road, if it's built more heavily over the west side of the intersection, the new station will be longer, the current station is only 700m to Warradale the new would only be 550m - and about 1.6km to Hove, leave Hove f...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport
The train trip Gawler to Seaford is 1 hour 50min - The distance is 85km - In peak hour traffic it's about 1hr 30min (according to Google) - Driving would cost about $6.50 in petrol say this person is on a concession ticket - $1.75. It's only 20mins quicker to drive, the train trip would be more comf...

I wonder if this will get approved, I heard that when 3 St Johns Row (diagonally opposite this site) was sold the new owners wanted to build apartments and it was turned down - not sure if this was true or "office gossip", that group does have 13 units making about 125K a year in rent - It...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport
It's even cheaper at 94 cents when you have the concession metrocard. A few years ago I saw a guy on the Gawler train (around Elizabeth) verbally abusing the female ticket inspectors , he had no ticket and he was being a total dickhead - I think he eventually got off the train - he probably was enti...

Parafield could move to the empty Masters store, seems easier to get into the carpark , I doubt this will happen, The Noarlunga store could move to the new location (not sure where it is though? anyone have an address - it's somewhere around Colonnades - right?) - doubtful - both are near Bunnings s...

How did they realign it - I haven't been in that part of the city for a while. Does it form a realigned T intersection at Grenfell / East and Easr Tce flows down to the Pirie St intersection, removing that park area next to the old substation.

[COM] Re: Masters Adelaide Airport
If Bunnings set up at Adelaide airport, would they keep the Mile End (South) store? If not what will become of the Mile End (South) site? I think JB-HiFi HOME would be eyeing off the Airport site - the closest Home style store is either Melrose Park or Gepps Cross, JB-HiFi is eyeing off The Good Guy...

Had a look today at the new mall today, was pretty busy in the mall part, Aldi was doing good business, lots of people but nowhere near crowded. The extension does seem a bit disjointed from the rest of the mall, Woolworths seems like it's a the end of a dark cul de sac. Was also at Bunnings and thi...

[COM] Re: PRO: Oaklands Rail Overpass
Can we also amalgamate Hove and Warradale - about 200m east of the current Hove station, this will help with a future Brighton road grade separation. It takes 6min to go from Brighton to Oaklands approx 3 km - there's no need for Warradale and Hove stations. The Seaford line is very slow in the inne...
