[COM] Re: Adelaide Convention Centre - Stage 3 | $350m
The Convention Centre's website said the cladding is zinc, not copper. Not sure how that will weather but if the Oval is copper then presumably differently.

Always sad when a heritage pub closes. Another one lost...
Not my favorite pub but perfectly good place for a couple of pints after work and always seems busy.

[U/C] Re: New Adelaide High School Campus
There are roughly 18,000 students spread across the city's three major university campuses, all of which have cheap parking available to students and staff. The University of Adelaide has 25,000+ students at its North Terrace campus alone: http://www.adelaide.edu.au/planning/statistics/pocket-stats...

[U/C] Re: New Adelaide High School Campus
I think the car parking issue is being blown out of all proportion. a) It's a high school. If a student can successfully get there between the ages of 13 and 16 without a car then they can probably manage the last two years as well. If not then they'll be no different from the tens of thousands of U...

Re: News & Discussion : New Bars & Night Clubs
I guess that poses the question as to what is 'upmarket'? In the same way that a hipster would never admit to being a hipster, a bar labeling itself as 'upmarket' probably is just trying too hard. In my mind when that term is used to describe a bar it tends to mean glitzy, over the top, gold-plated,...

Re: News & Discussion : New Bars & Night Clubs
I never fail to be amazed by bars which advertise themselves as 'upmarket'. For a start, use of that term kind of screams that they are very much downmarket. Plus they all seem to be themed around thinly-veiled strip joints for coked-up 1980s stockbroker types.

Cheers for that, looks pretty amazing! Always thought they were planning to move the lines to either side to construct the overpass but clearly not. Great thinking...

Cheers for the update, am looking forward it seeing it. I've been hassling T2T about it as they first said it would be available on their website on 1 August and then it was mysteriously changed to 'coming soon'. Spoke to them yesterday and it should be up on the website on Monday: http://www.t2tall...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
The place really is crying out for a total refurb of the retail space. Such a wasted opportunity.

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
If I didn't like certain elements of the buildings exterior facing onto Rundle Mall I work in the building and can honestly say I don't like any aspect of the building's exterior facing onto Rundle Mall. Yeah it's got some marble on it but you know the old saying: you can put some marble cladding o...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
Spotlight will be vacating Level 2 Rundle Mall Plaza in the next 4 weeks or so. Levels 1 and 2 will then be vacant which is a sizeable space in a prominent spot with direct access through to the Myer Centre. Granted, it's not at ground level but I reckon the two floors together would easily be big e...
