Re: Beer Garden
Ohh out comes the personalised nature, when hypocrisy is pointed out. Come on, give us a valid reason why inter species marriage isn’t being included in your marriage campaign? And leave people’s families out of this. Oh and I missed it before, but nice touch on the silly comparison with segregatio...

Re: Beer Garden
:hilarious: Students in public schools will need their parents permission to take part in any activity organized/held by a religious group, under new state gov. legislation. Makes sense. Not everyone is religious, not everyone wants their kids to be exposed to it. But, parents have no rights to pre...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Rode my horse through town tonight and it was very slow going due to the paved surfaces, when will they stop this nonsense and get back to dirt roads for my benefit?

Re: Beer Garden
Right-o. So, basically it's a no, no, no, no. I can't for the life of me see how it's a constructive contribution to a debate to be totally and completely inflexible and completely and utterly unwilling to even consider the merits of a conciliatory suggestion. Not to mention, such a closed minded a...

Re: Beer Garden
...I think changing the law or act so that legally it is called a civil union, and legalising ssm, without forcing religions to accept ssm, is the best solution. My religion can call it marriage if they want, gays can call it marriage if they want, but legally it’s all civil unions. It takes the st...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
So we now have to put up with chaos on north terrace for 3-4 months so that the tramline can be extended to nowhere. Honestly, now that the Rah has closed down, there nothing in the east end these days. What a disgrace. I'm curious, what would you qualify as "somewhere"? The western side ...

Re: Beer Garden
Note: I don't consider a 66% yes vote - as the polls expect - to be a vast majority. That is about as vast a majority as democracy can deliver. For comparison, that's higher than either party has ever scored 2PP in a federal election - even those considered landslides. If those polls bear out then ...

It's a fairly long and narrow tunnel, could the barrier be for breakdowns or if there are workers in the tunnel?

Re: Beer Garden
Mono, we get all that. I think only the hard-core religious would argue that 'marriage' belongs exclusively to religion. The point is that it's a potential compromise. I don't understand why you or anyone else in the yes camp would be unwilling to even consider a potential compromise to what is tur...

Re: Beer Garden
We already have secular laws about couples in Australia, that's what the marriage act is. Marriage doesn't belong to any one religion, it's something that exists across many different human cultures. If you want to argue that the secular legal marriage shouldn't be called marriage then that is an en...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn
I don't know the Adelaide city Council keeps removing the turn left with care lanes as in from Dequetiville Tce to Rundle Road and from Rundle Road to East Tce and from East Tce to Bartels road. This just cause unnecessary delays and bottle necks. It's a balancing act, turn left with cares are also...

Do they have helmets available with the bikes? That's the biggest problem with any bike sharing scheme in Adelaide currently.

[COM] Re: New Royal Adelaide Hospital | $2.1b
In all fairness though, there was plenty of room behind the old rah where the new high school is going up, to build an entire new wing, move certain services there, knock down the building that used to have those services, rebuild, and so on. For what benefit though? Surely not cost or time so what...

I wonder how long until the first idiot drives down there. 6 weeks? To be honest in a way being the first would be a badge of honour for some.

Looking at the first page it's amazing for Adelaide for it to have been only a year from the project first coming public to work actually starting. If presales have been strong and there are lots of owner occupiers it bodes well for future developments.
