Re: 250 homes to be demolished for 650 new ones
To be clear, I am not against high density zones. But these must be near high frequency train stations, preferably including local shops, childcare and maybe even a small pub or social facility.. none of which we are getting with these middle suburb proposals. It’s lazy and cheap, and we have learn...

If they've gone to the effort to put signage on the building, then surely that's an indication that nothing will be happening for a while?

Another person has been hit by a train: a cyclist at Ascot Park.

Re: Gepps Cross intersection
The number of paths vehicles can take through an intersection is n*(n-1), where n is the number of roads leading to the intersection. A normal four road intersection has 12 possible paths, five roads like Gepps Cross has 20. The traffic lights need to give each of these 20 paths a go every cycle, s...

Re: #Official Defence Thread
The concept drawing does not appear to have any significant parking space for thousands of workers. The railway tracks appear to have short trains on them. Will the development propose a standard gauge railcar service from Mawson Lakes (or further - Salisbury or Virginia) to Osborne? There don't ap...

[VIS] Re: Passenger Trains to Mount Barker
Most of the freight destined for or coming from Outer Harbor or Port Adelaide would not have a truck as the next step, it would have a ship. If there are still any industrial sidings, they would also be served by forklift not semi-trailer. I think it's rather unlikely that freight arriving from Mel...

Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments
Of the four sites, Dry Creek is the one that makes the most sense from an Urban Planning perspective. It's relatively central, close to existing road infrastructure, near to existing passenger rail so would be relatively easy to include new stations (this could be be extended to Virginia and Bucklan...

Another disappointing policy from Labor. Really wish they were going in the Weatherill direction rather than this populist shit.

Going up to go down and vice versa is a non issue I get off the Southern Expressway (southbound) at the Panalatinga exit and turn left to head back to Lander Road all the time, and it doesn't bother me. Much easier than dealing with the Marion/Seacombe lights. Since the Darlington works completed, ...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Incl. 115m Tower | $800 million
Driving along North Terrace this afternoon, it looked like one of the tower cranes were in use. It seems weird that a site would be open on a Sunday. Does anyone know of any deadlines for this project that would be forcing them to work Sundays?

[U/C] Re: Main South Road & Victor Harbor Road Upgrade
I imagine a traffic switch onto the new road will happen pretty soon. The current road needs to be built up a fair way to allow for the new roundabout at Robinson Rd.
Still a large amount of work to be done.

Admittedly I haven't delved too far into the info that was released last week so apologies if this is answered there, but what is the rational behind the Southern section being a tunnel rather than a trench? The section of South Rd between Darlington and Castle Plaza is quite similar to the areas ar...

The perennial question, should this be UC rather than SWP? I know excavating the basement is Site Works, but there are four ground level columns at the Southern end which have been poured. You can see one of these in EBG's photo from this morning Good pick up, just changed it to U/C :) I was on sit...
