Re: Moving the airport to a less populated area
I suppose if not at Edinburgh, a new Airport would have to go in around Gawler or somewhere around Monarto to be flat and open enough to host run ways? But that would be getting quite far to travel from.

Re: New Madrid Style Food Market on East End
Not to forget Ebeneezer Place is very nearby your proposed site which I've seen used as temporary market space and works quite well. I certainly wouldn't be against a conversion of an old building into a market/retail walk through in the east end, but it would need to stand on its own and not try to...

Re: Relocating the Government House
Ok, so we retain the building but open the grounds up to the public during the day? I do really like this idea, it would have some good historical merit to it and fit in well with North Terrace being the cultural strip, kind of like an additional square, and garden oasis without needing to go to the...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million
While I agree with your points the reality is that all the buildings there have been built at very different times throughout history. The buildings you mention are built and reflect the 1900s, 1970, 1980s, 1990s, 2020 etc. Combine this with different owners/stakeholders all with different agendas ...

This idea I like, and would have avoided the complete mess of competing spaces and designs we will end up with. If SA politicians weren't so inept and lazy, they would have facilitated this. Legally it was more than possible to require the interested parties to work together given it is all crown l...

A literal interpretation would resemble that water tower converted into the apartments in Kent Town, which in time will look like a tacky eye sore.
The proposed design reminds me of a decanter or wine glass. I love it!

Re: [VIS] New Concert Hall
I've always believed if the Womens and Childrens Hospital was to be moved, the empty site of where it currently is could be a great location - It can piggy back off the ovals connection to the Entertainment plaza with the footbridge, it would have tram accessibility and overall, Adelaide's entertain...

I suspect Rev means iconic in regards to doing something more exciting architecturally. I realise the Docklands in Melbourne isn't really a successful example, but it's full of crazy buildings - each one isn't particular famous, but they are different and you can tell they've had some fun planning t...

Also in the market precinct, the Council is finally preparing to fix the pedestrian-hating Field Street. Plans involve converting it to southbound one-way only traffic, wider footpaths (which in this case means actual footpaths), and tree planting. Some renders and link to public consultation below...
