[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway
When is the realignment of Raglan Avenue scheduled to be built? It feels like they really should’ve pushed this forward, culling one set of lights in Edwardstown will be welcomed with open arms.

I dont understand why they're demolising the old bridge. I know that it's probably nearing the end of its useful life as a roadway, but surely as a pedestrian/cyclist bridge, it would have another 50 odd years of service! I can think of several bridges that only remain for these uses and haven't se...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
A tram line loop through the city going through East Tce / Hutt / Wakefield / Grote / West Tce or Morphett would be ideal. Would service new developments being the Arcade and hotels/apartments. A loop tram via Wakefield/Grote would leave the southern half of the city with nothing. Routing along Hal...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn
we have 500 years of coal reserves and we're sending it all abroad to places like China who are developing their economy while ours is going down the toilet the only renewable that's reliable is hydro and that's not an option here...solar and wind are both heavily subsidised, unreliable and ruin th...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn
they're only being phased out in this country because our politicians are so stupid they want to send us back to the dark ages It's stupid to transition away from a finite energy resource? Granted, one stupid decision that some of them are making (in SA at least) is shutting down fossil fueled plan...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn
The problem being addressed is that fossil fuels are being phased out . So, what are we going to replace diesel engines with? Hybrid battery and trolleybuses can bypass sections without overhead wires if required. This is pretty much bog standard proven technology. they're only being phased out in ...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn
Instead of installing electrification on the current O-Bahn tracks, would some kind of fast charging at the interchanges be a more cost effective solution? Certainly when the time comes to do a more extensive renewal of the tracks it would make sense to look at our options, but until then could fast...

I note that they've restored the slate footpath in front of this without tree pits. I'm pretty sure the 'make good' condition of the development approval included both the footpath as well as replacing the two mature trees they cut down. Trust a developer to quietly forget about such niceties ... W...

It’s just a shame it’s the new logo and not the old one. The old one had personality, the new one looks like an app logo.Uncle Monty wrote: ↑Wed Aug 23, 2023 6:54 pmFlinders University signage was installed today on the southern side of the building

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
On a slightly different topic, the rest of the Station Arcade is terribly daggy and in need of a facelift. Interesting to note, the raised features on the upper walls already echo the architecture of the station concourse, it would be nice to see a refurbishment paint up the arcade in sandstone/nat...

Personally i think a contemporary museum dedicated to Adelaide / South Australian history would be best - and this could also combine the aboriginal history too along with the architecture museum which is currently crammed into a tiny room at the uni. Something with a more broader appeal to more pe...
