Re: News & Discussion: National Broadband Network

An alternative to the NBN map is this, https://www.finder.com.au/nbn-tracker/rollout/list/technology/mtm/status/build The build listing hasn't updated (had new entries) for a while and other catagories may be the same in that regard. Probably will be updated soon. Want faster speed? By day, 20-year-...

A large crane was erected onsite as of yesterday.

I'm not sure if it's the crane shown on the pics on the previous page but it is very big.

That reminds me of the ignorant spreading the "OMG the superway is going to collapse what an incompetent government we have take up arms an overthrow them" across Facebook a few months ago showing pictures of expansion gaps. :D I didn't say any of that but I am thankful for the explanatio...

While primarily of the South Road Superway, the following video (posted Nov 29) also includes footage of T2T project at the northern end (Torrens Road to Pym St. Also of interest (~9min30sec) is that it appears that at Cormack Road, one of the Superway bridge piers is no longer supporting the deck (...

Re: Yorke Peninsula | Developments & News

I posted the following in another thread a while ago but this is a more appropriate place for it, Y9uXyTMrBFU http://www.infrastructure.sa.gov.au/content/upperyorke The above however doesn't address the present national highway through Port Wakefield or the intersection with the Copper Coast Highway...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

There's another shot of a design map at the 13 second mark of a 9 News segment,

The video resolution is unfortunately quiet poor so it's hard to see what it is. Renders shown later in the video are from earlier (currently published) designs.

Still no update to the Northern Connecter designs on the project site.

There is however a glimpse of the current southern interchange design at the 30 second mark of the sod turning video.

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

From what I've seen on road projects in Perth, they've got a lot of steel reinforcing to place on those beams before pouring the deck.

The two image of the southern interchange show the two different designs. The top one is the more recent to appear in the public domain.

[COM] Re: PRO: Oaklands Rail Overpass

It is a gap in the non-stop North-South Motorway. As traffic lights cause a stop and are not a Motorway. It will get done, but currently the small gap looks like low hanging fruit. That's how I see it plus it may be a relatively close cost match to $190m, certainly closer than the other unfunded se...

[COM] Re: PRO: Oaklands Rail Overpass

$190m left over from the Northern Connector project would go a long way towards doing the gap between the Superway and T2T.

Generally, roundabouts perform better than intersections with traffic lights. They are more expensive and take up more space though. https://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Safety/roundabouts/benefits.htm WS DoT?
