Re: News & Discussion: Transport Projects
There's no point closing any stations on the Gawler line, you just upgrade key stations and service them more. The long term plan is for a city loop joining the Gawler and Seaford (Aldinga) lines through a underground line through the city, it would open up a lot opportunities. You could catch a tra...

Re: Housing Developments | Northern Suburbs
1000sqm blocks in suburbs wasn't the standard size, go look at the suburbs, Henley Beach South, Elizabeth's, etc 1950s subdivisions average block size 600sqm to 950sqm, the larger blocks are the more triangle shaped blocks, the 1/4 acre block never really existed, it was more a 1/5 acre block 800sqm...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network
Tonsley station will be removed so a passing loop could be installed there. The entire line only takes 5 mins, they should put a second platform at Flinders station. You probably could have a train every 10min. It's double track for the first 1km of the spur line so it will be 2.7km single track. Tr...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
E class trams wouldn't work in Adelaide, they're too wide 2.65m, Adelaide uses 2.40m trams, would it be easy (cheap) to modify the design.

Re: News & Discussion: Cycling Infrastructure
They're just going to end up in odd places like they did in Melbourne, someone even threw one at the Rav 4 at federation square on Saturday, Doesn't Adelaide have free bikes anyway?

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network
Yeah 10min currently is probably overkill, but compared to a train service it's pretty timid. It's more like a 864F every 20mins and a T840 every 20min, The service will be used. You could add a third route that goes a different way like a Nairne via Mt barker so you have three services each every 3...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network
Mount Barker is 33km from Adelaide via road, 53min on a T840, the train station is 55km to ARS, Belair is 21.5km and takes a minimum of 37mins, assuming both lines are in use and you run express and you get it down to to 32min, it will still take 80min to Mt Barker, the track is very windy and hilly...

Re: Infill Developments | Metropolitan Adelaide
$45 million for 90 dwellings on the KFC / Hungry Jacks Everard Park site, sounds like a massive amount to build 90 apartments, the average price would be less then the build price, plus HJ's and KFC are earning a lot of income in this location, why demolish them and build a development that will loo...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
When the tram lines are extended the free area should extend to North Adelaide,, (turn back facilities would most likely be built at the last stop on O'Connell so you can have more frequent city services on nights / weekends etc). Entertainment Centre would only remain free if the line is not extend...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport
The problem is it's an extra 4km to go around the city for each journey, now times that by the extra fuel used and extra pollutants in the air. People should use PT but it's not perfect and why should a shift worker be forced to drive around the city at midnight? The bottom half city in Adelaide is ...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport
People drive through the CBD because it's quicker shorter eg it's 7km Torrensville to Norwood via CBD and 11km via Greenhill Rd 60% longer. Detouring around the CBD and parklands is annoying. What's a useful solution to stop people taking the easiest route via the CBD?

[U/C] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line
Seems interesting, will this be a one station spur line? or maybe put a second station at Rosewater (Edith Street) it would be physically close to Port Adelaide but about 1.5km walk. Also will this mean the Outer half of the Outer Harbor line now gets a reduced services? Maybe it will be an All stop...
