Restoring a 'standalone' Pizza Hut building

#1 Post by The Scooter Guy » Fri Sep 25, 2009 5:16 pm

Remember those standalone Pizza Hut Buildings? Some of them have become other restaurants but closed prematurely while others have fallen into disrepair or been demolished!
2 buildings, at Gilles Plains & Morphett vale have became 'La Phorchetta' in the late 90s but have gone out of business too! :(
The West Hindmarsh building was recently demolished!
If I was to restore the Morphett vale building (below), I could turn it into the 'Pizza Hut Museum', where it would feature memorabilia from the past years!

I'm pretty sure that the Morphett Vale store has been demolished since the Streetview cameras captured it.

This is why everyone should make a trip every now and then to the standalone Oaklands Park Pizza Hut - admittedly, you may not be able to digest your meal for the next three days, but it is a comforting little reminder of one's childhood.

Although the City Liquorland on West Terrace is a temporary Prime Liquidators relocated from Sofa Shop building, it may be similar to a Pizza Hut restaurant. I'm not sure when this building opened but I think it was a restaurant before Liquorland. :?
EDIT: That building was about to get demolished but instead it is now a car wash!

I remember that there was a Pizza Hut restaurant on Hindley Street opposite the police station, Morphett Vale was next to Hungry Jacks, Gilles Plains was near Hungry Jacks, Elizabeth was where RAA is now, Noarlunga Centre is still there but not the dining room.
Do yourself a favour and come to South Australia.

I remember that one, it was awesome, You had to go down a flight of stairs to get in. When did that one close?

I remember the Pizza Hut in Hindley Street closed in the late 1990s, now a pub. Hungry Jacks was nearby, now a 24 hour deli. I have lived in Adelaide all my life so i know quite well about my city. The only big pizza stores in the city - Dominos & Australias Pizza House, Pizza Haven maybe.

Pizza Haven is slowly being re-branded into Domimos. The standalone Pizza Hut in Gilles Plains is replaced by a pub called the Nor East.
