DNS records dropping in and out...

#1 Post by monotonehell » Mon Sep 08, 2008 9:37 pm

...at least for me.

I've only been able to get into S-A about once in every four days. It seems that the DNS record drops out of existence on occasion. Which is something I don't understand, as it should have propagated all over the net by now. But on these occasions I've attempted to retrieve the A record from internode's DNS and get zero answers. Then I've tried to get the same record pointed at adam's DNS, on one occasion I got an answer from them, but normally they return a zero response.

It's weird, anyone else been experiencing this? It's like the server never existed - until it comes back online.

Happens to me fairly regularly - browser responds with "... not found" message. Was OK today, but unavailable
for awhile yesterday, from memory. Exactly what you describe, but perhaps not as extreme for me.

It happened to me too until recently, but since then S-A has been 100% for me.

It's been happening for me too since the server mode. It's very annoying.

very few problems with me, about the same as before the server move. Although the new server tends to be a bit quicker most of the time...

I had issues too. I had to use an anonymous proxy as i thought they blocked the site from me at work. It worked fine through that but not normally but has been ok this morning.

I think the server has been "unavailable" to me during most days since the server move. I thought that the new server was down when the internet would not connect.

Anyway, works most times I try to access (two out of three).

My bad! :)
Hello,

There was no 'A' record for the nameservers in your VPS when I checked, hence they were not pinging. This could have caused some issues. Separate A record has been added for the nameservers in your VPS now.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Regards,
Technical Support
Hopefully it should be fixed.. let me know how it goes in the next few days. Thanks for alerting me guys.
