Removing the scraper dollars and shop

I think it's become pretty pointless having the scraper dollar and shop system, no one uses it. it's kinda broken right now anyhow.

Although I really don't give a rats about what Algernon thinks, my message to him is that we are living in a democracy. If you don't like what I think, then get over it, grow up.

I think the points thing is fine, it's just that there isn't very much to do in the shop apart from changing your title colour and the titles.

it's a little limited in what you can do unfortunately. the guys who developed the cashmod shop have pretty much abandoned the project.

As someone outside the centre of things and only interacting in an orbital fashion, may I suggest that the scraper dollars were of some significance to me - the reason being I could identify the active users of the site and thus the ones who showed greater interest on the whole.This lead me to analyse what they said (against what I knew and had read) and it helped me with issues of credibiklity.

For what it's worth, I hope it helps with the scraper issue.

Problem also is that it is not foolproof.. if you cut and paste (quote) someone elses text e.g. from the tiser or abc.net.au you'll get points for it also. So in a sense it could give a false impression of contribution to the forums.
