Thanks so much for posting these. I work right next to this and always wonder what's beyond the roller shutters. Can I ask if this was an official or unofficial visit?

Semi-official, we had a key anyway, but not sure if we were supposed to use it! The upmost of care was taken down there anyway, there are asbestos signs all over, so we didn’t move anything around. Which shop do you work in? If I go down again I could see if I could bring a +1 haha, you can private message me if you want

Isn't about way overdue that the VSQ Submission 2010, Adelaide Development Review 2008 and Adelaide City Vision 2030 sub forums were archived? They're all 10+ years old now.

Has the suggestion been acted on already? The VSQ Submission 2010 forum requires registration to access and the other two sub forums don't appear in the Board index.

The suggestion does raise a question. How should historic forum content be dealt with? Old content while now longer of current interest still has historic value. Ever increasing accumulation of content does require increaed storage resources. Is this the concern or is it the impact on navigation of the forum? Within the sub forums the listing of most recent topics first automatically gives prominence to the most current content while retaining less direct access to the older content.

Howdy all! I haven't made a new YouTube video for a while, but I took my drone down to Kingston Park recently, and this was the result of all my coastal footage recording. Feedback welcome.

Beautiful footage. I can definitely see why the Soviets placed the Somerton Man there. Great choice of location!

Thanks. Any suggestions of where I should fly next? I was thinking McLaren Vale (capture some sweet d'Arenberg Cube action).

Keep in mind that you can't fly above National Parks, and there are strict airspace restrictions across most of metro Adelaide.

Thanks for the footage Plasmatron, really top-notch. To be honest, when I saw the thumbnail and (embarrassingly) not even knowing that Kingston Park was a suburb of Adelaide, I just thought it was of some European city or one of Sydney's northern beaches. The density being built on the cliff top is quite impressive.

I know you did the inner harbour around the Port, how about further out past the bridges around the Port River and the different docks and Outer Harbour/North Haven? I'm guessing flying around the power station and the ship/sub yard would be off limits for obvious reasons, but how about around the container terminal and where the channel starts? The Marina and beach out at North Haven..
Might be able to catch one of the larger ships in the turning basin when they're being spun around by the tugs.

Do either around Tea Tree Plaza bus interchange or Salisbury Train Station. You'll be pleasantly surprised

Drone No Fly Zones.jpg

For the record, here's a map showing all the airport-related no-fly zones - taken directly from the DJI Fly app.

Most of the metro area is off-limits, unless you have special flying permits, leaving a few viable pockets around the Eastern suburbs, Port Adelaide and Southern suburbs (beyond Oaklands Park and Blackwood). My next YouTube video will be McLaren Vale, which could be followed by West Lakes or some prominent towns in the hills (ie. Mount Barker and Hahndorf).

Merry Christmas, Sensational-Adelaide forum! Hopefully 2022 will be bigger and better than ever. Here's my present to everyone - a relaxing drone flight around McLaren Vale last month. :)
