Anyone know what's being transformed on Gawler Place as follows?

1. Bag Heaven
2. Frank McCabe Jewellers
3. HCF (now being gutted)

A few little updates:

Universal store have moved a few doors down to where the Ugg Boot store used to be.

Rundle Square facade treatment has seen the addition of a 'Rundle Square' signage installed on the southern end above the Romeo's Foodland sign. Also an LED screen has been erected on the northern corner (Rundle Mall/Pulteney Street).

The former CIBO Rundle Street has now been leased, no idea what's going there, but looks as though they're retaining the original interior which suggests it's going to be some short-lived half-baked coffee shop replacement.

The former Harris Scarfe will be used as an art exhibition space during the Adelaide Festival: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-12-03/ ... l/12941800

I hope they can book a better class of advertising for the entrance of our premier retail district. At the moment it's rotating between government PSAs, and a suburban chicken and chip shop (seriously).

It's completely driven by companies who purchase space on the asset. As it's a new item, I'm assuming JC DeCaux have only just added it to their available inventory.

It might be the wrong thread to ask this but does anyone know what used to be underneath the Rundle Arcade (parc arcade). There used to be escalators down next to Adelaide Exchange Jewelers on the Stephens Place side however they were boarded up many years ago. I have had no luck finding any information about it.

It has been discussed somewhere on this forum - not sure which thread, but others have said it was a cinema in the 80s.

It was a single screen cinema that was operated by Hoyts, at first on its own, then it was Cinema 4 as part of the Regent Cinemas, the other three being at Regent Arcade. Not entirely sure when it was closed, perhaps the early/mid-90s once the new Greater Union Hinley Cinemas were complete... But it's largely been left untouched since its closure, the seats are all still there from my understanding, and I think it's also been used as a Fringe venue since its disuse as a cinema.

What happened to Embellish Flowers & Gifts on Grenfell St?
Another victim of COVID?

Saw the response to your speculation on Facebook. Maybe next time do the smallest bit of research before you stick your foot in it.

Nando's has closed on Hindley Street.

Sushi Hub is opening a second mall shopfront where the convenience store used to be next to Charlesworth Nuts.

Melbourne skate shop Fast Times has opened on Gawler Place (south).
