I'm hoping that is just a very indicative render, given that the initial funding of $2m is "funding for a concept plan".
It would be nice if the private side of the partnership really steps up and we get something closer to the JPE vision.

I have to admit, I'm a massive fan of the nothingness wasteland currently on that site...
What used to be there and when did it become nothing'd?

Not another ordinary 18L box for the city
TBH I'd rather them just forget about this site and instead invest into finishing the city central GPO precinct!

The government isn't responsible for the City Central project.metro wrote:Not another ordinary 18L box for the city

Yet another 18 storey building? I thought the government raised the building heights!

You people do realise that the image supplied is a 'concept image'.
[VIS] Re: VIS: 301-315 King William Street | 150m | 40lvls | Mixed
I say hooray a little movement on this well not even a park at least - I'm sure for everyone who think its too short, too square, too bland, and so on can contact the SA Govt to either go into a partnership or commit to a 5 + 5 + 5 lease for 20 floors to get the height they would be happy to hear from you.
[VIS] Re: VIS: 301-315 King William Street | 150m | 40lvls | Mixed
I'm sure we all do. Unfortunately we have a history of filling prime sites with uninspiring boxes, and this "concept image" appeals to our worst fears. Will wrote:You people do realise that the image supplied is a 'concept image'.

Well the 40 level building was always just a concept and to expect that with a Government court upgrade was unrealistic. This latest concept is on par if not better than the court upgrades interstate i.e. Perth and Brisbane's recent upgrades. Hopefully the square box design at least gets a few more curves and angles before the design is finalised.
I'll be very happy to see this site developed and 18 levels for this location would definitely stand out, keeping in mind the nearby Commonwealth Law Courts and 400 King William are almost half this height.
Adelaide's real problem from a skyline point of view has been the core CBD with all the 18 level developments, none of which stand out. That's where we need the 30 + level developments.
