It is gonna be amazing when footy/cricket fans leave Adelaide oval & see our new casino. It is gonna look so great especially at night.

Probably combustible cladding too, hopefully to be removed one day.
I was thinking exactly the same thing when I was crossing KWS this morning...

I'm guessing it looks a shade of brown/copper because of the overcast conditions. Will hopefully look more 'gold' in the summer sun.

Either way, thank God it's not see through like almost every other development with cheap glass facades in Adelaide.

The glass is awesome - very reflective and looks very different in different lights. I reckon this and Realm will be two of the most visually pleasing developments the city has seen in recent years.

Here's the same photo as the one I posted above, taken a couple of days later.

Walked past this afternoon. Is looking really good. Though the view from the alley was an interesting perspective.ImageImage

I wish this was taller. Imagine it at 100+... the glass is so good!

Maybe someone else, but not here. It's already going to be pretty domineering. Any taller would be overkill and detrimental to surrounding heritage.

But they have teased us with this glass by being so slow to put more up and give us a real idea of how it'll look.

I hope they'll surprise us, but I fear the adjacent office tower is going to do that anyway.

What heritage?
You're worried about the railway station building, when it's already surrounded by garbage such as the Intercontinental & Riverside buildings, not to mention the rubbish across the road?

Agreed, and for reference have a look at the rubbish built opposite Flinders Street Station on Flinders Street (Melbourne CBD). North Terrace has much the same feel - a multitude of architectural disgraces

Trust me, I have nothing nice to say about the ASER developments (Intercon, Riverside, fmr plenary building) nor the row of mediocre in the near section of North Tce. My concern is, yes, for the railway building but particularly the Festival Centre. The hotel will impede vistas of the Dunstan Playhouse from several vantages. And that's all before Walker plonks his overtall tower in front of the parliament houses. Y'all can disagree, but I'd prefer the area -- public land, btw -- to stay low rise and step back up into the city.

Agreed, and the whole area itself is looking more and more cluttered with no sense of symmetry. I personally would have rather see the state government five years ago use their power and the whole 99-year public land lease arrangement to wrestle ownership of the InterContinental site back into public hands and then hand that, the Riverside Centre and former Plenary buildings over to SkyCity and say "go nuts'. Then the area would have been a more cleanly defined mixed use precinct... Convention Centre | Casino | Railway Station (could be converted back into government offices) | Parliament House | Festival Plaza, rather than everything pilling on top of each other like it is currently.
