Affordable? That would be the day, the reason apartments don't sell we'll in Adelaide and most of Australia is that they are incredibly overpriced.

For example suburban home builders

Lower -$700-900sqm
Middle - $900-1200sqm
Upper - $1100-1300sqm
Premium - $1500-2000sqm eg 300sqm would cost $600000 on top of land value.

Now if we look at that premium you may say that's $600000 on top of $300000
That's about $3000 per square meter for a fairly premium home and land.

That would mean I should be able to afford a 100sqm apartment for $300000 but that as you all know is way off.
Why such a markup? Developers have everyone conned into saying they are luxury, location and the like, but the main problem is that the government allows them to sell using final price rather than using a Sqm cost.
