Render I hadn't seen before from an interesting perspective (although from before Park 25 was upgraded):

An excavator may have started work on the upper level closest to North Tce. No time to stop and check this out. maybe a picture later.

I do like the design of this one, but I hate how close it sits to the current SAHMRI, seems like this can only ruin the standout-ness of that building.

I know the final design of a building often differs from the fancy computer renders we see, but this takes the cake! :D

Any ideas what the shed is really for? Shy workers? Underground excavation? The base is made of metal beams that were brought in by crane, so its going to be there a while at least.

Might it end up being elevated over the sidewalk, as were the site offices for the uni buildings? IIRC, this project has a number of subfloors (where the particle accelerator is located), so I'd expect fairly significant excavation where it's currently located.

I love the design of these Medical Science buildings, it's like the architects are just designing them off a four sided grater!. SAHMRI looks great, number 2 should look great (lol) too. We just need a giant colander shaped building lol, that could be the new SA Pathology building, an upside down colander.

Looks like they're offsetting the construction costs with some hydro grow, but i could be wrong

That shed probably would've been the new SAHMRI 2 if it was getting built in 90's South Australia, they were some dark times. Building the worlds first one direction, but reversible freeway is just one of the hallmarks of that decade

It's not a shed it's a marquee. There's probably going to be some sort of media event with politicians involved, and we can't have our overpaid politicians get their suits wet or stand in the cold now can we.

Here's a photo of the site from yesterday, from a slightly different perspective

Lots of activity now - the shed/tent has been moved revealing some excavation that has been sealed over with plastic & it sounds like there's lots of jackhammering going on inside the tent in its new location. The tent has a large air ventilation system attached to it so possibly it is there because there are structures under the old rail control building (pipes etc) that contain asbestos or some other toxic / dust forming material.
I remember hearing that Adelaide Uni declined this site as a location for AHMS when it was offered, one reason being the high cost & time required for remediation & removing other encumbrances.

I can confirm that there is significant soil contamination in the area - it is the principle reason the project start was delayed from the beginning of the year until now.

So the marquee is for soil contamination?
The nearby nRAH site had significant soil contamination too, they didn't erect marquees on that site. I don't recall seeing marquees setup either for the SAHMRI stage 1.. :?: :?:

Could it be some sort of indigenous find or informal burial site? I doubt that though as they'd probably want work stopped and we'd have heard about it.
