Not to mention it is prime land for a much larger commercial development. Wasted opportunity to get rid of a puke building.
 What part of 'Adelaide has an too much vacant commercial office space' doesn't quite stick? I'm genuinely curious. We don't need more large commercial developments, particularly considering Walker's now building that piece of crap only a few doors east.

There are different vacancy levels for different grades for a start, but I take it from the combative nature of your posts today to me and others, you're not really here for the discussion.

20,000 plus square metres of a modern office building in Adelaide CBD and people in this forum want it levelled? Seriously, get a grip

Aw, bless you, you've noticed my good and bad days on here.

I'm all for a discussion on the topic, but this whole area is horrible, the last thing it needs it another oversized office building crammed into a small space. As far as I'm concerned, and I'll keep saying this even now once the SkyCity extension has been completed because who knows when the area will be up for another renewal. The government should have negotiated with Walker to take over the Riverside Centre, old Plenary building and InterContinental building then level all three for a new multi-purpose entertainment facility including a casino and hotel, the casino component could be leased back to SkyCity and the hotel component leased back to InterContinental. A substitute for the plenary building could have been built into the western extension of the Convention Centre and they could have redeveloped the North Terrace frontage to incorporate more convention spaces there instead. This would then leave the Adelaide Railway Station's upper levels as a blank canvas for a public exhibition space, and the plaza area could have fallen back into Adelaide Festival Centre's control.

“Despite the current challenges, and wider economic slowdown in Australia, the Adelaide CBD will outperform in the coming years, backed by solid economic fundamentals and sound government,” he said.

“South Australia has proven to be an attractive investment market for smart offshore capital, and we will focus on greater investment in Adelaide in the short to medium terms.”
It would seem that something is going well, despite the usual noise on this forum.
Oh yeh, one renovation and we're turning into the Dubai of the southern hemisphere

I'm not going to bump its thread, but I noticed that the JWDT site is no longer active (developers behind 207 Pulteney Street). Given it's now 2 years since the last hint at the projects existence and the developers site no longer even seems to exist I wonder if we can finally drive a stake through that projects heart and if we'll ever get leaks of what they were actually proposing.

Was thinking the same thing after CDJ's Hyatt update. Please clue us in CDJ.

There is a tender in today’s paper by multiplex for “39 Pirie Street”. There are no proposals lodged for this site. Any idea what it could be?

Surely it’s meant to be the old planet site?
