Almost the entire carpark is closed off.

Does anyone have any renders of the actual plan other than the photo of the stand from last year?

Earth works have begun.

Cash Converters has now been refurbished and the former Barbecues Galore (aka Banner/Home Hardware) has now been divided into Browse In & Save as well as other smaller tenancies.

The building looks absolutely fantastic with the new look.

Zlice has unfortunately met an early end. It was previously Pizza Capers which tried to extend the chain into South Australia but without success.

If I was in charge of the Modbury Triangle area...

1) Demolish exisiting mall and carparks

2) IKEA on ground floor, basement parking.

3) Residential above as high as height restrictions in the area allow, the views from the top floors would be good.

4) As for the exisiting car parking area (North East Road side) Possibly combine KFC, the pizza one and few new eateries into a plaza type setup similiar to St Leonards Station plaza in Sydney with a fountain or pond and lawn.

Some good thoughts, Nice building, wrong area. Definitely needs to be demolished. Probably would be better being residential highrise or a uni campus.

The $18M upgrade for Modbury Triangle only just finished and 12 months later demolish the whole thing?

It was a mistake to begin with.

Demolish it Or turn it into an IKEA / Costco

Looks like Foodland finally finished their 'upgrade'.

It is a very confusing concept they've done. They've gone for a convenience store format, yet only trade to 7:00pm weeknights (including Thursday's). It's also a very half baked upgrade with old Coles signage still being used.

I reckon it could be one of, if not the worst, Foodland's out there.

IKEA is much bigger than that!

I also have a feeling (although a quick search didn't provide an answer) that Ikea owns all their physical stores.

I doubt they own stores that are located in Westfield shopping centres though.
