The main shopping complex in McLaren Vale (Main Road) is undergoing an upgrade/redevelopment. Romeo's Retail Group is taking over the space left by the previous Target store. In the process other changes are in progress resulting in modifications to the original centre's layout.
One of the retail stores, Country Life is temporarily located in the mall adjacent to Coles. Their staff advise they should be trading in their revamped store by the end of November 2015 (all going well). Going by current progress, this (revised) date may be a little optimistic, considering what still needs to be done. Time will tell.

Drove past on sunday and didn't think they were that close to opening yet.
I've been told there used to be 2 supermarkets in Mclaren Vale in the past, Foodland in the current shopping centre, and Bilo down the road where the cheap shop is now, then Foodland left and Bilo took the larger store.
Will be interesting to see if there is demand for 2 supermarkets now.

Looking forward to a free-flowing Adelaide!

Correct, Coles and Foodland are relatively close to each other. The competition could prove interesting, getting themselves settled prior to Christmas and prior to Aldi (Seaford) opening next year.neoballmon wrote: I've been told there used to be 2 supermarkets in Mclaren Vale in the past, Foodland in the current shopping centre, and Bilo down the road where the cheap shop is now, then Foodland left and Bilo took the larger store.
