yeah citadis sounds awful. I like amigos better also. Gee one went passed me the other day by fluke. Amazingly quiet. The driver sits so low I thought there was no one driving it at first

also, they dont have a honk like the flexity. They have a little beep that sounds like road runner off Buggs Bunny, and similar to my pulsar

Experienced a sighting the other day as well when I was near the Goodwood road crossing, definitely better looking as well as more spacious than the Flexitys IMO.

i was on a tram to glenelg this morning, and as we went down jetty road, a flexity came passed us, city-bound, towing one of the citadis trams.
Didn't manage to catch the number of the tram, but got one photo on my phone's dodgy 2mp camera, through the tram window so not a great pic.
The Citadis had 'Adelaide Metro' on both of its destination screens.

I will add the photo as soon as i find my phone usb cable

That's interesting because when the Flexitys were first introduced we were told they couldn't be coupled together. How many of them have been modified?

The flexitys have always had couplers for towing/being towed but not for normal operations. I don't believe the driver has any control over the second tram, it's left in neutral. There's pics of them coupled to H's floating around online.

They were checking if the Flexitys could tow the Citadis.

This is an important part of testing because it allows TransAdelaide to check recovery operations for an event that a tram breaks down (due to electrical faults, broken pantographs, etc.). Without these emergency couplers, the line would take a lot longer to clear and result in longer delays.

In regards to towing, Astro posted this on RailSA on December 4th. Whether the issue has somehow been rectified in the 20 days since this was posted remains to be seen.
Astro wrote:From what I've heard so far it has failed brake tests early on, it has failed an emergency tow test with the Flexity (Flexity can tow Citadis, Citadis can't tow Flexity), its been failing cornering tests to the point where it appears these units will only be suitable for Glenelg - Entertainment Centre operation rather than shuttles as well (to save the wear the non-pivoting trucks cause at Grand Union).

I was in town today and saw Citadis 203 approaching with its desto saying "Welcome aboard"!
Not wishing to knock-back such an invitation, a friend and I stepped on board and took a couple of shots before being told that it was a training tram.

My first opinion is roomy & airy.

Wow amazing photos. The interiors look A LOT more inviting than the grey flexity interiors. Good work :applause:

Looks V. impressive - lots of room.

Uh, what's with the hideously orange floors?

Charcoal grey please.
