Looks almost 1960's era. Looks a little similar to that building that goes over the Highline walking trail in the Meat Packing District in New York.

I feel the airport open space and this hotel are both so generic and bland. They really need to improve the open space because it looks shabby and half arsed.
It's an airport forecourt, many would just have a road where this stuff is, it looks fine.

For what it's worth we had some relatives here recently who hadn't been to Adelaide for about 4 years and they were quite impressed when we left the terminal towards the carpark, remarking on how much it had changed.

The crane for this seems to have come down.

"It looks fine". Everyone has different tastes. For you, a large area with bland paving is "fine", for others not so much.
You want to talk about how much something has changed? Wait till the Jewel at Changi is finished.
We will never have anything even a fraction of that in this state, because there's too many people in this state who are content with mediocrity.
Someone should have told the Singapore government not to waste S$1.7 billion, and instead just do a paving job, with a subway as an afterthought. It looks fine in Adelaide.

I had not been to the airport since May until earlier this month. I did not pay much attention to the construction site as I left Adelaide. When I got back and stepped out of the terminal towards the car park and noticed the hotel, I thought "WOW". I like it at first glance, and hope it is successful. I think the picture above looking across the runway and over the terminal shows it fits in well. Does it have conference and restaurant facilities included? It could become a suitable half-way venue for conferences and meetings with participants flying in from Sydney and Perth.

Approx. calculations 165 rooms over 6 months (182 days) or 30,000 nights (max). So 25,000 guests is 83.3.% occupancy.

I'm surprised by the Hotel has left blank concrete panels to the ground level of the plaza. I would've thought they'd glaze the entire plaza outlook, or at the very least apply a green wall or some street art.

I agree. I’m also surprised about the lack of decent signage. Apart from saying Atura (which means nothing to most) there seems no signage to tell travellers it’s an actual hotel. Similarly UBER signage is impossible to find.

They don't put up signage for UBER per se, just look for the signage for "ride sharing".

Ok where is the signage for ride sharing? I don’t recall seeing that either.
