Well done guys - I need people like you around it seems. It seems we are getting desperate to get to these kinds of things. Re the Q - a CFO - slip of the keys you know. Yes, being a finance controller he seemed to know a few things I did'nt want to hear - this site was one.dsriggs wrote:A CEO? Or a CFO???

An interesting little development yesterday might be time to blow the dust off some drawings

It appears this one may be back (at a much lower height) and Goodman's are the developers.

Half the size of the original but I like the bike friendly car park with changing rooms.

I don't mind the design, but it looks like another big cube on KWS - a white one down here, a blue one further up, and green ones north of the square. I hope the spaces in between don't end up being cubes too - a few NYC-style setbacks would look good, a spire here, a dome there ....
cheers,

Could they not have eaked out another 2 floors? Not saying it has to be as high as the Hills proposal was, but 6 floors isn't all that much for a new building along KWS.
Looking at the white frames, I just hope it doesn't end up like the apartments on Gouger Street or opposite the hospital on North Tce.

It looks like they're putting this out for lease pre-commitments with out any existing tenants, so it's possible (although unlikely) that the interest will exceed the current number of floors and they will plonk one or two more on the design.Nathan wrote:Could they not have eaked out another 2 floors? It's all about the pre-commitments these days.

I might be slightly controversial here but I will settle for a white/green/blue cube over an empty block ... Although we don't want our city covered in these types of developments but is good for these to occupy idle sites and stimulate development which hopefully will encourage some 'out of the box' designs down the track

I am completely fine with this - It's a nice low rise development that compliments the Gateway building perfectly.
Bring it on.

Agreed this one looks good. It compliments the Optus building well.
While the site might be suitable to a larger building, its also probably a good idea if they get on and use the existing foundations sooner rather than later (assuming that has been the idea).
Is this though a real proposal? It seems odd given the site was up on realcommercial for sale only closing 3 days ago. That's pretty quick to get a design done, let alone the sale of the land. More likely this was an earlier proposal or concept done.
