Agreed that any significant bulky development down that end will be appreciated. If it does proceed and initiates even more (particularly with the hospital adjacent) the pedestrian underpass may even come to happen at some future point.

15 storey or similar would probably be the highest you could do there anywhere due to airport etc and let's face it - I still am amazed at how much of an impact buildings even 10 to 15 stories can have in areas of the city that are currently as flat as a pancake.

Aswell, as mentioned, the planes are very low when they are entering that part of the city, so i doubt anymore than 20 stories would even be allowed.

I love how Manhattan buildings frame Central Park - this could work from UniSA anti-clockwise to King William on South Terrace facing Port and Greenhill Roads, Railway Terrace and (partially) James Congdon Drive. 15 storeys should do it CBD-side for now. Also have to laugh when anti-development councillors use flight path as an excuse but it's apparently fine to land amongst tens of thousands of houses.

Privately funded cranes usually reflect business activity - government funded not necessarily so.

VIDEO: Watch the new Royal Adelaide Hospital being built in two minutes

A NEW time lapse video released today compresses five months' construction work at the new Royal Adelaide Hospital into two minutes.

The bird's eye view of construction taken from a webcam on the nearby Adelaide Day Surgery building.

The video of images captured every 15 minutes shows hundreds of people busy at work between January and the end of May as the project moves through in-ground works and foundations to the hospital gradually taking shape.

The precinct flythrough which was uploaded by Matt yesterday in the Centre for Cancer Biology thread shows a bunch of tallish/bulky new buildings near the Newmarket hotel on the South side of North Terrace. I'm not too sure whether this is just artistic license or concrete proposals plonked into the scene.
