[U/C] Re: U/C: 42-56 Franklin St | Big ugly car park | 8 levels
A large concrete pour was taking place on this site yesterday in front on the carpark. Does anyone know if the proposed building on this site has planning permission yet?

It has been approved since 2007 but no app to construct the building has been lodged as yet. i would say its for the entrance to and from the carpark.Uncle Monty wrote:A large concrete pour was taking place on this site yesterday in front on the carpark. Yay! More car parks... can we close the equivalent number of on street parks now?
Exit on the right in the direction of travel.

maybe the ACC should sell/develop one of its parking stations (Topham Mall?) - put the cash towards Victoria Square. That'll keep a lid on the number of car parks and generate some cash...monotonehell wrote:Yay! More car parks... can we close the equivalent number of on street parks now?
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Was just reading this document and noticed that the map seems to imply that we could possibly be seeing a relaunch of this proposal in the near future.

Kyren Group are lodging a new proposal for this site. I don't know more than that at this stage.

Slightly bigger than previous proposals.

Quite tall for 21 Levels will be 93.5 m high. Expected to be approved next Thursday.

Renders from page 48. Nothing special and infact will make a massive glass wall with their other development next door. Will fill in a big hole though.

Oh I like it. Nothing crazy but could be a lot worse.

The render really shows off those blank walls

At least they appear to have some form of cladding/or are in the least painted different colours.
