Is this the whole of the old Caroma factory? Will be interesting to see the plans: I'd be hoping they fully maximise the residential uplift given the excellent location.

Thanks for the link!

The plans are pretty good overall and will significantly increase the area's population. The only real disappointments I have are the loss of a bike lane on Magill Rd and the Aldi with its at grade parking and express disavowal of shop-top apartments. The developers were thoughtful to include public space which they wish to vest with the council as a throughway to Chimney Park from Magill Rd, however this public space is compromised by the Aldi carpark and the positioning of townhouses. The townhouses are adequately designed but the apartments aren't particularly attractive to me. But I'm sure the location will appeal to many.

Probably not a case of the developers being thoughtful, more likely a case of development approval being dependent on the public space component being included.

Most developments, including one-into-two subdivisions in suburbia, require either a public space component, or a monetary contribution towards maintaining existing public spaces.

Yes, I meant that they describe their open space as an extension of Chimney Park but this is not exactly true due to avoidable design flaws.

This is the site that I reported on a few days ago - the Caroma building has been demolished.

Norwood Green - photos taken 1/1/2020

Not much to see at this stage, however construction has started on the townhouses at the corner of Sydenham Road and Stephen Street.
Perhaps add 'Norwood Green' to thread title??

Aldi's basically ready for shelves to be filled and the first lot of townhouses behind are well advanced. No photos sorry.

With the townhouses nearing completion, they've started doing a marketing push on the apartments for this project.
