The Project
The 2019-20 State Budget committed an initial $20 million towards the Granite Island Causeway Project to be delivered by The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI).
The Granite Island Causeway is an iconic landmark with considerable heritage value. The Causeway is the only link between Granite Island and the mainland at Victor Harbor and is of cultural significance, a popular tourist attraction and important to the local, regional and state economies.
Timing
Community Engagement has commenced
Construction is expected to commence in mid 2020
It is anticipated the project will be completed by late 2021
Community Engagement
DPTI is seeking community feedback on the key requirements to be considered.
We would like to invite you to a Community Information drop-in Session to learn more about the project, provide feedback and understand the issues and concerns of the community. Information sessions will be held as follows:
Venue: Victor Harbor Bowling Club, Flinders Parade, Victor Harbor
Date: Monday, 9 December
Time: Call in any time between midday and 2 pm, or between 5 pm and 7 pm.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to attend.
