let me help you with some maths
the Masonic lodge won't be completed until 2027 if their current schedule goes to plan...that's best case scenario...so we're talking about 1977 here as a comparison
let me help you with some history
in 1977 the tallest building in Perth was Allendale Square which is 132m tall.
But, as you mentioned math, let me also give you a hand here.
I suspect you are alluding to the Bankwest Tower, which is 214m tall. It was completed in 1988. That is a full 11 years out from your own calculation.

St Martins tower...we haven't even caught up to
Bankwest we'll be waiting until the 22nd Century or never unless they start building talls in Salisbury and Marion

Hey Micbara, when do you think construction will start and finish on this development? Could you give us a rough timeline if you can?
Cheers,
Finishing the working drawings is a huge task, practically speaking I would expect construction to commence feb 2024 and finish 2 years later, the program looks like around 18 months, but that's a little to ambitious if you ask me.
I love this honesty. Did you have to get approval from higher ups before engaging with us or just YOLO'ing it?
Hah, higher ups. I'm the leading consultant mate, and it's a membership-based organization. We made the decision very early on to be as public and honest as we could from the start. It's always been viewed as a public building owned by a community organisation which means everyone has a right to know and to comment. Ironically there are no secrets in this secret organisation

Fair enough! That makes the level of engagement even cooler.
Have seen the FB debates haha, fighting the good fight.

I was upset about the height decrease to 183m instead of 187, but like literally... its only 4 metres it'll still be hella tall compared to what we have now
I think it'll be good for Adelaide
yes we'll only be 50 years behind when a building of that height was Melbourne's tallest
...and Perth
Well unless we move the airport, its likely to stay that way
They've already started planning to double the size of the airport to accommodate the A380's and 747 which it for some reason expects to come to little adelaide. So unfortunatley it probably won't happen
Taller buildings could be built in the south of the CBD and there would be no conflicts with the airport. The problem is everyone wants to be on North Terrace.

I live in the south of the CBD and planes fly right overhead
its the planes taking off that dictates the height limit, not the ones landing which fly over the Torrens

The emergency flight path is over the CBD.

depending on the weather the planes take off in different directions... when they're taking off to the east they all go straight over the southern part of the city of adelaide

Hey everyone.
Just a quick update. The members voted unanimously to proceed with a joint venture partner (Pelligra) and get on with construction. This was an essential internal milestone and it was pretty awesome (as a non-Freemason) to see.
250 members and their spouses attended a special event they call a "grand communication" dressed in their full "regalia" or uniform to ask questions and vote.
Perhaps the most heartening thing for me was the questions from very elderly gents on the sustainability and environmental impact of the building. They really are a pretty special group.
So now it's full steam ahead!
