This is hilarious although worryingly the Holdfast council appears to be humouring the complaint:
"Glenelg seafront residents petition to remove ‘too bright’ mural" on InDaily
For reference, the residents are lamenting the loss of this concrete sea wall to a charming mural:
Sadly for the artist, InDaily didn't bother to quote any of the many pedestrians who enjoy the artwork.

Maggots. Why are Adelaide residents so old and fucking tiresome. Bonkers holding this city back.

I can see where they're coming from. They want to look at the sea and not be distracted by the wall which looks like trash piled up with this mural on it.

I think it looks great. I also love that these same people who hate 'concrete buildings' are suddently ok with a concrete wall.

Cooked comment. As if you would say that it looks trash.
Plus the wall is there to protect the community during storms, unless you are an advocate for people dying by storm surge on the basis that you get a nice view of the sea. I wouldn't be surprised if so.

the wall was already there and it was non-intrusive... speaking of cooked comments ^

Embarrassing attitude by Council toward this. No case to answer.

You don't have to love it. You only have to think it's no worse than a blank concrete wall with saltdamp stains on it.

That may be true - but is the current furore just that it is
different than it was, and there'd be just as much upset if it
had a mural and was now being painted plain grey?

If only they didn't pander to whiny residents when there was a "high rise" development on the cards, but hey at least this is a start for that local council.
