There's already 2 democracy hubs there as it is. One is grey and the one next to it is red.

Technically it's already 200m above sea level.
Any views and opinions expressed are of my own, and do not reflect the views or opinions of any organisation of which I have an affiliation with.

Doesn't matter now, but have seen plenty of comments talking about the other factors, I think they were trying to align their issues with ones that could potentially be most relevant to SCAP.

Developments rarely look in the end like any of their renders promised, and this project will be no exception…
Despite all the push back though against this project for whatever reason, including any perceived corruption or not…like anything..once it’s built we will all move on pretty quickly to the next major building proposal for Adelaide and look for ways to try and bring it down as well.
I only hope that Keystone Tower proceeds without fuss and any attempted tall poppy syndrome takedowns get quashed into oblivion….

I don't think anyone here will have issue with other big taller developments unless they look bad. Keystone is an example of that. Cannot wait to see that bad boy go up.
[SWP] Re: Festival Plaza Tower 2 | 160m | 38 Levels | Office
Yeah, Keystone is a great counterpoint to those who tried to slander anyone against this development as bring anti-progress.
It's had an entirely different and open planning process, and even many of the groups who would be against it have been begrudgingly complimentary of the planning and consultation that has gone into it.
I just hope they can hurry Keystone up, because it would still be funny if it could ensure Walker is denied ever having Adelaide's tallest.

Willing to bet many of those 125 "prominent South Australians" won't be able to resist checking out this building when it's complete.
The views from the upper level restaurant will be spectacular. Maybe they can all share a meal together there and drown their sorrows in a few bottles of Grange Hermitage while lamenting Adelaide's dearth of democracy hubs
Speaking of views, I love this shot from the Walker design report of the site in 1926. How would it have been taken? Hot air balloon?

Festival tower 2 is now live on the PlanSA 3D development activity tracker. See its real world impacts on the skyline.

The height and design on the PlanSA development site is different with a lower height for some reason.
[SWP] Re: Festival Plaza Tower 2 | 160m | 38 Levels | Office
Yep that doesn't look quite right to me.

Either they’ve made a mistake, or festival tower 2 has had a height decrease and haven’t made it public yet
[SWP] Re: Festival Plaza Tower 2 | 160m | 38 Levels | Office
I think its still relating to the previous proposal, as it shows a render of the previous scheme.
[SWP] Re: Festival Plaza Tower 2 | 160m | 38 Levels | Office
I wouldn't read too much into the detail of that tracker. Look at Keystone for example, it suggests a stepped roof and exposed LMR which the latest renders show it enclosed.
I'd suggest it indicates massing/building envelopes more than detailed shapes and profiles.

If and when this gets completed - wonder how many of those 120 most influential South Australian's will probably end up being one of the first to visit the restaurant at the top of the building. Should they be placed on the permanently banned list or possibly only allowed to reserve tables next the amenities entrances well away from views of the parklands, adelaide oval and city?
