Because you know they work so well in the wet with leaves on the track, and trying to climb hills and when there's high heat and the rails buckle, and when there's a problem on the track and buses have to rescue all the passengers...

we want metal wheels please mr monotone
any reason why they can't fit little guider wheels on the rear axis wheels, to stop the tyres skidding into the track.

No matter what wheels you have, you still can't climb stairs.

Here's a better shot of the Volgren Scania at Tea Tree Plaza. Taken in 2002, courtesy of The Phonj

Why is that funny?
Because its a photoshop job, or because the doors are on the wrong side !
I can confirm for you that it is a LH Drive Scania Artic, used for trials. It is not a Photoshop Job. Apparently, it was quite weird entering the track from the wrong side of the bus.

That's interesting - I thought I knew a lot about the O-bahn, but I hadn't heard anything like that at all.
Do you know how the guidewheels were mounted? Normally they're connected to the steering mechanism, but as the middle and rear axles don't have this, there must've been some other arrangement. Did they try to make them able to withstand hitting roundabouts and high kerbs?
