crane bases at both the cc8 site and the hmri site, so we should see at least two more cranes in coming weeks

With Harris Scarfe, CC8, Adelaide Oval, the casino, the extension of the convention centre and
the RAH potentially we could hit 15 at some point over the next couple of years.

I'd speculate;

RAH alone will have about 5-8 cranes - judging by other similarly sized hospital developments in the nation.

AO I'm under the impression is to be done in stages, so the Southern Grandstand will have just 1, and then the Eastern 1 or 2, possibly.

Convention Centre expansion will be 1, maybe 2. How many were used when they initially built it?

HS is a definite 2 crane job. The site is massive.

Casino expansion probably won't have any. It's too low-rise to warrant cranage.

But still, that's 10 cranes minimum from those projects alone. 17 to be wildly optimistic. The tally will push 10 by the end of the year; WCH and Globe would be the ones to come down in next 6 months.

More cranes that any other stage in Adelaide'a history -I think 8 was the previous max in the eighties. :D :D

I stand corrected mate - I remember this now and the occasion it happened - something about a delay in removing the crane near a Gouger St development.

Coming into the city today from Port road I spotted 5 cranes. Looked like a progressing small city :)

I saw the same view about a week or so ago, looks quite impressive. And the cranes should be there for a while yet as those developments are at early stages of construction.

Once RAH, the Convention Centre extension and (hopefully) Adelaide Oval upgrade kick off, that Port Rd view will look totally amazing!! :D
