It is shown that way in the August 2013 fly-through:

Most of the structure of the old Exhibition Building has now been demolished. The four cores at each corner still remain.
Looks like the works are having serious impacts on the Railway Station - they have buckets everywhere on Platforms 7, 8 and 9 to catch water leaking from above. If that's the case, one would hope that with the platform closures, they actually are spending the time to put in new, or reinforce the existing support columns in the station.

On Saturday numerous cranes were removing the last of the brown precast concrete panels. Paulns what is that equipment on the semi trailer parked by the river bank?

I'm not 100% sure EBG but it kind of looked like the top part to a crane or some kind of mechanised crane? I'm only guessing. It was branded as Samaras.

Looks like a large capacity mobile crane, which would back up what was suggested earlier that this building would be built with mobile cranes rather than tower cranes.

Scaffolding has now been installed along Platform 9 of the train station. There was quite a large amount of noise coming from above which could be heard above the noise of the trains.

It's a great shame that they haven't electrified all metropolitan lines that are serviced by this station, they could have removed the ventilation shafts from the area.

The equipment on the low loader semi trailer was part of a large crawler crane which has been erected on the flat site by the river bank. When operating the red and white section is raised beyond horizontal.

For a mobile crane, it's just as big as a standard crane when erect like it is this morning. Time to bump the crane count up to 7?

That looked so much better than what we got. The thing we have now is f7cking hideous. Why do they always dumb it down?
