No the car park columns in this area were designed to take a large tower in the hope that it would eveuntually approved.

From what I've seen, there is some areas that are closed off by fencing/hoarding with DELTA signs on them. The flow of the car park is impacted, and part of the exit is as well.
IMHO this tower is going to be built.
I think I posted a while back in the other thread, that the whole development has been known as a two tower project..got that impression after several union members I spoke to at other sites told me in as many words, there's going to be two towers.

Thankfully the planning code amendment has been approved, paving the way for the second tower.

The design of the new building looks interesting and will really add to the skyline as Adelaide's tallest building, which will be even more important if the Masonic Keystone building does not eventuate.

barely looks 20 metres taller than the tower 1 in the later renders

if that's to scale I'd be surprised if this is more than 135m

Does anyone know if future groundwork, will prepare for the possibility of underground rail?

Pretty sure the reserved space for underground rail (if it ever happens) is between the two uni medical buildings, don't think any proposed plan involves trains continuing through the station and under here, especially since they put the underground carpark in.

underground rail in Adelaide wont happen for at least 100 years assuming there's growth

the very low population density just doesn't make it worthwhile

even a place like Dublin which is considerably wealthier than Adelaide, has around 10x the population density with the same population still doesn't have a subway

Correct. A CBD rail loop would be more likely to be well below North Terrace or just south.

Auckland has a comparable population size and density to Adelaide, yet they’re building their own city rail tunnel as we speak.

Auckland has 5x the population density of Adelaide
it also has 500k more people in the greater metro area
