Glass is being installed on the first 4 levels of the Eastern side - sorry no photo. The reflective glass looks good.

Im glad that the government seems to be open to further development of the area and that they are pushing for a high-quality outcome.

If the second tower is taller then the other tower, then I'll support it.

I have mixed feelings but agree about extra height. The design would have to be better than the current tower under construction too.

However, commercial space shouldn't come at the expense of public space (especially when of quality).

Agree with this. I don’t think the current three storey proposal is great, so if another tower was proposed it would hopefully have better integration with parliament.

I think a second tower would have to incorporate a decent amount of retail to make up for losing a dedicated retail building.

A second tower? Look forward to it being completed in 2037.

A second tower should never be allowed under any circumstances. The riverbank precinct is over developed as it is.

I don't recall the old plaza being connected to the parliament, nor do I recall the rear of parliament even having doors? I don't know what the talk about connecting parliament to the new plaza is all about. If they mean visually connected, well, they've already approved a 3 storey development there, so adding another 20 on top isn't going to change that. Also, tower or not, there's no net loss of public space - the land is committed to being developed, it's only a question of how tall. Given what is already contracted, I see no loss here in building another tower as long as it is a high quality design. In favour, more people will be actually using the plaza.
