My Prague to Adelaide trip with Qatar Airways.
Lufthansa gets me to Munich late, shit fight, rebooked on to Emirates, empty A380 to Dubai with everyone in economy sprawled out sleeping across 4 seats, packed in to a smaller boeing Dubai to Adelaide, arrive in Australia 3 hours later than intended, starving, and everyone who either works at Munich, likes Munich, lives in Munich, lives near Munich, or likes words starting with M can go #$% themselves.

A glimmer of hope that AirAsia will be back
“Adelaide is somewhere we’ve got to go back to. Indonesia or even Malaysia AirAsia. We need to go to every major city in Australia. Adelaide didn’t work last time, but we’ve grown and we’ve got bigger, so Adelaide we should go back to. I think Bali-Adelaide would work.” That is both for the shorthaul AirAsia brands, Fernandes noted, and for the long-haul low-cost AirAsia X airlines.

And I thought my New York-Charlotte-New York day trip was a nightmare
(LAte leaving Charlotte due to plane issue, then rain, then thunder closing airport, then flight cancellation due to too many hours, then a new flight, getting to NYC at 1 am and hotel at 2 am)

Finally, it's been a long time coming.
Will this result in more investment and more international students from China ?

I wonder if there's any viability for a Thai Airways Bangkok flight, perhaps 3 times a week

I don't think so, it would hurt Singapore (and Malaysia) to much. They thrive off that traffic now. Thai are striggling as it is, they are barely making ends meet. Thai were scheduled to come here in the 90's but didn't eventuate, they had schedules out and everything.

If Singapore and Malaysia airlines thrive off the traffic from Adelaide to Thailand then doesn't that mean that Thai airways would have a
good business case to fly direct ??

What I meant was They thrive off the traffic to places like Thailand, Vietnam, India etc.
As I said, Thai are struggling as it is. I don't think it is viable for them to come here. The only IMHO way we might get a Bangkok flight here is if Emirates do a Dubai-Bangkok-Adelaide.
