I have been to cafe primo before and the food is good, but nothing special.
I wonder however how a cafe primo will survive near Gouger Street and the market precinct.

I'm surprised Maccas or KFC didn't jump at this site.. As for Cafe Primo, it would not surprise me if they are eying off the Riverbank aswell

There was one on the corner of Gouger and Coglin about 5 years ago. Not to mention the one on East Terrace. Seems they don't do too well in gourmet precincts (though that's probably just what I'd like to think).

I am not a huge fan but they really aren't that bad.
sure the food isn't the higest quality - but you are paying $5 - $10 for it so it provides certain members of the community a product which is affordable.

I really dislike it when people categorize a whole chain. How can you say by working for a particular company that makes you rude? is it not up to the individuals they hire? I can't vouch for this, but I sincerly doubt they hire staff to intentionally be rude to customers. Maybe you had a bad experience but not everyone of their staff force a cookie cutter clones.

More like double or triple that cost. Cafe Primo isn't that affordable

cafe primo used to be affordable when their most expensive meals where about $12 now for what they offer the money just isn't worth it.
But hey, i prefer a good pub schnitzel to anything so i'm probably not the best to be giving culinary advice.

Can you recommend? I've had some average schnitzels of late, and this upsets me.

I would have preferred a business such as Cafe Vili's to be located at the Central Bus Station to provide an extended service to travellers/visitors and residents at all hours. They do an excellent job in their premises at Mile End providing a range of affordable, freshly baked/created food, including Australian cuisine.
(Fancy a pie floater, Aussie burger or Drovers steak pie?)
This model would provide a valuable service to the community, 24/7, service weary travellers at all hours and inject some life into the precinct after other businesses have closed.

I think Cafe de Villi's was originally supposed to go in that space, but they couldn't get a 24 hour liquor licence from ACC.
