- Young Street carpark
- Henry Waymouth carpark(behind Workcover)
Yesterday I parked in Young Street carpark. Got there just before 9:00am and parked on Level 2. Young Street is now 6 levels, but only 2 of them are being used. There isn't enough demand.
And now they're building another one????
Talk about over-supply!
so your 1 trip into a car park prior to 9am indicates that there is an undersupply of carparks
I park down rundle street between the Upark on HJ's and the Ezipark accross the road from the Megistic gardens hotel
both always 80% capacity when I am there (probably closer to 90%) - there is a significant demand for car parking in the city...on week days.
Yeah, I was talking about the Franklin Street area.
It was just before 9:00. I would have thought that the busiest time for car parks in the area would be up to 9:00. You'd probably get 80-90% of your customers in that time.
And yeah, it's going to be a busy area in 5-10 years time. But that's still 5-10 years away

Its a very different dynamic parking west of KWS. If you work in the eastern part of the CBD, parking near the bus station makes very little sense. Even those on waymouth/currie have better options in playhouse/topham. I imagine all of these parks around franklin would be deserted on weekends, seeing as there's no retail nearby. Contrast that to rundle st carparks.
The solar-system themed park on Wyatt St has so few casual parks available they slug about $18/day for earlybird. Aside from the fact that paying nearly $20/day for parking in Adelaide is a sign you've got too much money, that says to me that people prefer the extra $$$ than paying $13 and having to walk a few blocks.

Big ugly car park going up, provision for future office on top, I can't tell? Could easily be another car park site for years to come.
Pic taken today:

Those two office developments can't get built quickly enough! The carparks are hideous.
The ACC should look at making a planning by-law that all carparking be built underground.

How's this for a suggestion - must be some significant development coming around there that needs the parks - lots of money to be made.

this is might just end up like that one on Wakefield street. Stage 1 carpark, stage 2 office never happens.

The office developments of both projects can't come soon enough! What a blight on the streetscape.

can this area of town sustain two new carparks of this size at the moment?! surely they would rely on the adjoining offices for their operation to remain feasible.

You would think that all these car car builders have done some H/W concerning demand - infers much for the future of that area.
