Do you have a source for this?
See this web page :

You know all of this is going to fire up the debate about Adelaide getting a new stadium...

They made hindmarsh too small when they rebuilt it for the 2000 Olympics.... it should have been built to accommodate 25 to 30 k.

Yep it probably will, and hopefully they keep performing and making the final stages of the ACL, to justify a new stadium to our knob head politicians.
Although I still believe by the start of the next decade a new stadium will be a sure thing.
Anyway, well done Adelaide United..even though I don't have much love for generic franchises. At least your showing Melbourne how its done, who were knocked out of the ACL 6-2 on aggregate.!

Mate, we are now in the final stage of the ACL. There's no further we can go in ACL. The next comp we will be in is the Club world championships. All of these matches will be in Japan.

But united are doing well in the A-league and there will be some A-league finals early next year at hindmarsh
and possibly a grand final. Maybe they should setup some permanent temporary stands !!!!

No. Melbourne weren't knocked out on a 6-2 aggregate, they didn't get past the group stage due to finishing second in their group. If you're going to have a go, know what you're talking about.

As good as it will be for Adelaide to make it, it does highlight the fact we have nowhere to hold such events.
Spot on! Try telling that to all of the stubborn AAMI Staidum supporters on Sensational Adelaid!!! If only we had a stadium like ANZ Stadium... <SIGHS AND SHAKES HIS HEAD>
It would be nice to have an ANZ stadium but who will play there on a weekly basis to make such a stadium viable?

Port Adelaide? Hardly. They are struggling with the costs of AAMI as it is. And that's in a season where membership was boosted by making a Grand Final the previous season.

Adelaide United? Averages of little more than 10,000 tell the story. And other A-League clubs playing out of large stadiums are stuggling with the costs and are moving to more manageable boutique style stadiums (i.e. Melbourne Victory leaving Telstra Dome, Queensland Roar leaving ANZ).

Adelaide Crows? They are possibly the only team that could afford it, maybe. But even if they could 11 or so match days a year don't justify such a stadium. I mean, where does the stadium generate income if it's only being used so few times a year?

And besides all that, if Adelaide United want to play in a bigger stadium, they can - at AAMI. But they don't want to because it's not their home. Having an ANZ type stadium wouldn't change a thing in that regard.
Sorry if there was a misunderstanding, but when i said to have a 'stadium like ANZ Stadium', I meant it in the sense that ANZ Stadium has reconfigurable seating for both oval and rectangular sporting codes. To have such a stadium, wouldn't need to be an 80,000 seater, just a 55-60 seater, like Stadium WA, except build it so that it has the potential to be expanded to seat 80,000 should the need arise in the future. There's nothing wrong with a bit of forsight! (That wasn't aimed at you BTW  )
Also, just on your argument that Adelaide United don't want to play at AAMI; they don't want to play at AAMI because its not their home. No, no. It's because AAMI is not suitable for soccer. Don't start telling me that AAMI was built for football, because even football die hards know that its outdated and ugly, but they just don't want to admit it. The logical solution would be to move into the CBD, but, as I said on the 'AAMI Stadium to receive $100 million facelift' forum, its all just one big boys' club. This is quite frustrating for the public that are screaming out for an inner-city stadium. Is it just me, or are the winds of change flowing up Gulf St Vincent...?
I take back many of the things I said before 2010; particularly my anti-Rann rants. While I still maintain some of said opinions, I feel I could have been less arrogant. I also apologise to people I offended; while knowing I can't fully take much back. :)

Wow, someone is a little sensitive.
Finally woken up to the beautiful world game with the new A-League a few years ago and consider your self an expert on "soccer" now? Or was it Australia qualifying for the World Cup that caught your attention?
Big whoop, I made an error. What I was talking about was their group games against Gamba Osaka, which they lost 4-3 and 2-0(6-3). I read something earlier, forgot some of the details, rushed to make a post without checking twice. So shoot me, I'm human, I'm prone to making errors unknowingly.

I've been following the game for close to 30 years. But that's got nothing to do with anything so I don't know why you felt the the need to speculate on that.

It's not the error that bothered me, it's the pathetic gloating over the Melbourne Victory. Need you be reminded of the circumstances that allowed to the A-League teams to make it to the ACL?

Pathetic gloating?
What's wrong with a bit of interstate rivalry?
Seriously, it's about the only thing that could make this repetitive, sterile, A League with its clone franchises interesting.
Maybe next they'll bring Pele out of retirement.

Hey Mike Rann was on the world game on sbs and he said if Australia gets football the world cup he guarantees the they will provide a suitable stadium for it. Whatever that means it does sound promising though. You can see the interview on the website www.theworldgame.com.au one thing i noticed he still has no idea how much potential Adelaide United has giving Adelaide a name in asia.
To try to put it in some sort of perspective the World Cup is as big as having 2 grand finals a day for a month

He will provide a suitable venue.... that could just be an upgraded AAMI stadium.

Nup, wont be upgrades to an existing AAMI.
It will be a new stadium. I said this before, mark my words, if there is a bid, there will be a new stadium in Adelaide.
And what happens now? Mike Rann comes out and says pretty much just that.
Come on FFA PUT A FREAKING BID IN!

It's easy for him to say that because he knows, as does anyone with a morsel of intellegence, that Australia has zero chance of successfully bidding for the world cup.
