In another thread there's a release from the ACC that says:
"The other new proposal approved by the Panel tonight is for a 15-level mixed-use building at 57-59 Wyatt Street, comprising ground floor retail, two levels of car parking providing 34 spaces, four levels of offices, and residential apartments on the 8th to 15th levels. Existing buildings on the site would be demolished, while a gymnasium is proposed to be established on the building’s 7th floor."
How many floors does this building have, and is the height correct and to what?
Cheers

Hindmarsh are the builders for this project and will also take up most of the office space once completed. Work is to start within months and be completed late 2009.

So, is it going to be 17 levels at 64 metres or the approved at 15 floors and somewhere in the high 50s?
Cheers

Actually I may be responsible for the 17 level figure, in that for Emporis reasons, you count the ground floor as level 1 and the plant room as a floor, thus bringing the number of levels to 17. But for council reasons its 15 levels.
So what was approved is still 64m and either 15 or 17 levels (depends on how you count the floors).

This is VERY dissapointing. New app lodged with the ACC. They had approval for 17 Level now they are going for a 8 level in the heart of the CBD!
Type: Application Assessed on Merit
Application Number: DA/591/2008
Lodgement Date: 19/07/2008
Location: 57-69 Wyatt Street, ADELAIDE SA 5000
Description: Demolish existing building and construct 8 storey office building with ground floor cafe.

7 storeys! damn it - can the ACC reject based on it being too short?
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Hopefully it's a typo.
For a prime inner city site, 7 levels is a total waste.

This is a backward step in a precinct that allows for higher buildings. This one will eventually be swallowed up (hopefully) by taller buildings, and then they'll see their error (if that's what they want).

Why would they submit a completly new application for the same building? rember the ACC only approve building below $10m now and a 7 level building fits into this category not a 17 level one. it's no typo unfortunatly.

The developers have obviously decided that the residential component to this buildng
is no longer viable. It's a shame not only for the lost height but if done properly
the mixed use effect on a building can be really impressive
