I wish more was done with BHP but I get that they don’t want to take away from the clock tower.

Overall not totally bad.

A couple more from today - the entrance area seems not too far away, but I heard the opening date is July?

There was a news story on this tonight. The hotel will open in August this year, with two more hotels under the Marriott brand set to open in Adelaide in future. One being the Westin Hotel which has signed an agreement with the Freemasons to occupy the hotel in their new tower, and the other will be announced shortly.

The Marriott car drop of area is slowly getting finished + a quick photo (through glass) of inside the GPO.

The gold and green make this look dated already by 15 years. Sigh.

Where was the brown/grey finish in the renders? wtf

The gold and green are likely heritage colours at a guess.

A few photos from the last few days. Paving of the new valet drop-off is well underway.

I thought there was supposed to be some sort of golden gatehouse going in between the GPO and Electra?

That looks to be independent of the building, so it could still be coming...

Not just a 'golden gatehouse' but actually the swimming pool and outdoor leisure facilities for the hotel in the submitted and approved plans to state planning. Walked past a couple of days ago and it looks as though this is not to be included in the final product which is very disappointing, especially considering this is Marriott Hotel, I would expect pool facilities in a five star hotel.

Marriott still lists a pool on their website, so I wouldn't be surprised if they moved it somewhere else... The Sofitel did it as well, the originally approved plans had a completely different arrangement of fitness and pool.
