Another election promise from 2018 the Liberal government has now officially ditched, the on-off ramp at Majors Rd.
hopefully labor puts it back on the agenda.

What's the bet now that Glenthorne Farm is part of a national park it's going to be infinitely harder to realign Majors Road and Black Road with red tape and hoops to jump through? It would be much easier to realign Majors Road fully to join Black Road since the Glenthorne side (Majors Road) is mostly flat, whereas the Black Road side would need earthworks to raise the ground and make a realignment possible.

I think it will be ok. They've already got the corner of South Road/Black Road earmarked for the realignment. See cadastre below...
Current South Road/Black Road intersection will be lifted up to intersection of South Road/Majors Road. Some earthworks required for sure, but nothing too difficult.

what should be done is aligning Marion Road with Holbrooks Road, Holbrooks Road with East Ave, East Ave with David Terrace and David Terrace with Hanson Road

east ave & holbrooks is joke
years ago they demolished a car yard on east ave corner, but then decided to build offices
now they demolished Midas on the other corner and put a liberty petrol station there
all the work theyve put into the bridge up at grange & south road all just leads up the an even worse bottle neck now at east & holbrooks

It's also the easiest of those Route 14 intersections to fix, with a little foresight.

Maybe this is a solution for South Road/Daws Road. The motorway could go over the top with a roundabout underneath.

Why? There's not that much room, so a lot of property would have to be acquired.

In the same city where so many struggle with Britannia Roundabout?

Firstly, the southern tunnel will start somewhere before Daws Road so any kind of major alternation to the intersection would be redundant.
Secondly, even if the motorway wasn't in a tunnel, why would Daws Road need this? It's only 2 minutes away from the on/off ramps at the Ayliffes Road intersection so any traffic wanting to get from Darlington to Daws Road would simply get off and use South Road on the surface. Traffic coming from the north would have a slightly longer but similar journey. This has been mentioned on more than one occasion, but the motorway doesn't need access at every single road it passes, it's primary purpose is catering to through traffic and "express" traffic accessing primary corridors (Don Bradman - Airport; Anzac & James Congdon - City; Cross - SEF).

I've been through said dual roundabout dozens of times and i've never seen a problem. A big improvement over the old single roundabout setup.

I don't know construction at all but to me it looks like it could be finished by July.

ok, the last time I ventured that far north they had only just moved the over pass into place and there was no traffic using it. I remember being stuck in a queue forever waiting to get through the Regency road intersection.
