Aren't those 3 things the same thing? The Scooter Guy wrote: Uncertified, Unsustainable & Untraceable Palm oil
But that's just a stall in the centre of the mall down near Woolies isn't it? I'm sure if given the opportunity, they'd rather move to either locations. Both in the foodcourt and near the cinemas (and thursday nightlife if that's still a thing) would get much higher sales for them.Brucetiki wrote:KK already has an outlet in Marion. Australia's largest solar power-generating car park canopy will be built at the Westfield Marion shopping centre in Adelaide.
Origin Energy will install the facility on behalf of the joint owners of Marion, Scentre Group and the Lendlease-managed Australian Prime Property Fund.
Fourteen solar canopies will cover about 240 car spaces.
When completed, they will be able to generate 647.73 kW of power and help Westfield Marion achieve savings of about 650 tonnes of CO2-e/year.
Origin's general manager of solar and emerging businesses Phil Mackey said the project, Australia's largest installation of its type, would provide a long-term solar solution to help reduce energy costs and provide some future cost certainty.
Scentre Group's general manager of facilities and sustainability Stuart Elder said the installation was a win-win for all stakeholders.
"The installation provides shade to our customer's cars, which obviously improves their shopping experience at Westfield Marion," he said.
"And solar is a key pillar to Scentre Group's sustainable energy strategy as it reduces our carbon footprint and reliance on traditional electricity generation."
The solar canopy installation forms part of a broader centre redevelopment including a fresh food market and ALDI supermarket.

With the Dick Smith floorspace now available. I'll give it six months before Westfield pull out the big guns and try to entice a TopShop outlet for that space. I don't know how that would work with Myer but I guess this is the case everywhere else...Ben wrote:That's only a pop up store crawf.crawf wrote:Not sure if it's been mentioned but Nespresso has opened on the ground floor.
Quite a few empty shops at the moments. One Optus store has closed as has , man to man, the 2 fellas gifts shops, dick smith which was huge space, standish cycles, abc store and previously reported hungry jacks and McDonald's. Lots of vacancies.
The floor down near woolworths is all being ripped up to connect to the new mall. Hopefully the start of a full upgrade.
