Couple of things to note:

Looks like Sushi Train on Grenfell Street has now permanently closed. No reason was given on the notice stuck to the door.

Also, Gonzo Group (Cry Baby, Memphis Slims, Shotgun Willies and Sugar) are opening a bar/live music venue in the vacant tenancy at the bottom of the Crown Plaza building on Frome Street apparently with the working title of 'Honey Drip' or 'Honey Suckle' or something to that effect (named after a cocktail from one of there existing bars). Having come from the live music industry it seems like a weird choice, if I'm honest, but that said the ceilings are high enough that they could probably fit a mezzanine in the space if they wanted to.

Market Plaza refresh is underway, looks as if 'The Greek Palace' (currently operating as a food truck business) are moving in there. Not exactly in keeping with what's previously been in the Arcade but I guess if they make it work then that's good for the Arcade. Interestingly, the newish cafe that's opened just outside of the old food court is Greek influence also. Not to speculate, but do we know if the owner of the arcade is of Greek background...

Pretty sure that other one in front of the supermarket was originally Greek but it’s been run for several years by Uyghurs and they have a hybrid menu.

The previous one shut completely, and has been replaced since.

I give it 6-months. Not to sound overly pessimistic in my scepticism, but this ground floor space sucks and whilst these Glam Adelaide articles fluff up the vision for these restauranteurs, their venues end up being nothing new or exciting, and not even close to what they envisaged.

Don't understand the Seinfeld connection. Wasn't really a pizza-heavy series from memory.

renew Adelaide...the smell of government subsidised rent isn't a sustainable business model

I guess it’s another way to repackage New York style pizza which I don’t think works in Aus. Italians do it better

Was so disappointed when Mimasu closed. I had my 25th birthday there and got absolutely shamozzled on the warm sake. Probably ding-dong dashed abc that night which explains why he's so jaded. Hoping Buta Yama Ramen creates similar positive experiences.

I had dinner with my late brother there just before he left for Canada for work. Loved their karage chicken.

I think these might be fairly new upstairs in Rundle Place? Very busy Friday lunchtime.

Sad news that Remy’s on No Fixed Address Lane is closing along with all of its sister venues, including CREAM Jetty Road, Brighton. Owner made clear in his Facebook post that this wasn’t another recession issue but more of a personal financial one.
