Looks like a nice place to stay.

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Yeah, the new restaurant tenancy will be built by the ACC to compliment the Rundle Lantern.

another 'Buskers' style outdoor cafe will be great for the east end of the mall. Its taken a while for Buskers to get its popularity, but in the last few months, every time I walk past in my lunch break, Buskers is always 90% full, and is now getting busy on weekends. This is great to see. It seems to close to early in the evening though

Yes, I remember reading that part of their lease conditions with the ACC, Buskers are required to stay open late almost every night.

Application Number: DA/920/2008
Lodgement Date: 13/11/2008
Location: 241-261 Rundle Street, ADELAIDE SA 5000
Description: Demolition of existing building, construction of a four level mixed use building incorporating retail and tourist accomodation

This development will come before the ACC DAP next Monday where it is expected to be REFUSED planning approval. Usually we are all disapointed when the ACC refuses a development, however in this instance I am very happy with the recommendation. The building that was to be demolished has been rightly identified as contributing to the streetscape and thus worthy of retention. Furthermore the proposed building's bland architecture and polished concrete façade was identified as clashing with the architectural ambience of Rundle Street. Further reasons for refusal include lack of bicycle parks, failure to specify ESD initiatives and a boring roof line. In addition such a development would have obscured the recently completed mural on the corner of Union Street and Ebeneezer Place (this last point is my opinion and not a reason for refusal).

Application on public notification to turn the site next to Rydes South Park into a Car Showroom for Subaru. Not sure how I feel about West terrace Turning into a car showroom strip with the above new Toyota Redevelopment, Adelaide Motors Redevolpment and Lexus Adelaide Redevelopment now with this Subaru one. I feel West Terrace should be keep for Medium density buildings IMO.

Most forums don't allow the use of the <iframe ..> tag, which Google uses. It's a security risk.

Interesting - the design utilises all the existing buildings on the site. I'm not against car showrooms lining West Terrace, I must say, because it's likely they'll always look immaculate and well-presented. West Tce. has always appeared quite tacky and dilapidated, and definitely not in a whimsical 'yes the door might be falling off and painted a different colour but LOOK, we've planted a flower in it and put lights on the side, so it's eclectic and funky like Maggie Gyllenhaal' sort of way.
