For those who care, SA is getting a new entrant to the Supermarket industry with the franchise Foodworks buying the following Coles locations:
Windsor Gardens
Hackham
Morphett Vale
Daw Park
Brighton
Aldgate
Stirling
Glenelg (Anzac Hwy)

I saw them advertising last week, referring people to their web site for store locations.
That was the first I had heard of them, but they have 5 metro & 6 country stores in SA already, including Jetty Rd Glenelg

Thanks Xaragmata. I didn't know they existed in SA. Have they been there long?

I have a Foodworks near me in Canberra. It's a hole, never has anything.

More store selling? This combined with massive REM cuts in stores (St Agnes having a cut of 50% with another 50% cut coming in a couple weeks) is a little concerning...

Coles @ Windsor Gardens used to be Franklins Frrresh until Franklins left South Australia!
For starters, my avatar is the well-known Adelaide Aquatic Centre insignia from 1989.

Some obsessive compulsive from Railpage appears to have hacked monotone's account and put an annoying cheesy gif animation based on a bad pun in his sig line.

Just be glad it wasn't some bulk-shipping enthusiasts, or it might have been "Snow White and the Seven Wharves"

A relatively new article on Wiki:

Go read! Interesting South Australian history.

I will forever associate the Adelaide Steamship Company with being the sponsor of a number of the Adsteam-Lidums chess tournaments in Adelaide. 1987 was a particularly strong year, attracting a few well known (well, within chess circles) grandmasters from overseas, and even earning a mention in the New York Times.

And you'll have to put up with it until I get back from Disneyland end of next month. Bwahaha.
Exit on the right in the direction of travel.
