The very top of the crane has been removed.

I could be wrong, but it looked more like the beginnings of the planned upgrade to Waymouth St.
I would've thought the removal of the crane would be best from King William St, not reaching over from Waymouth..!
FFS, closing down one side of King William street for 24 hours ???
Honestly, which government department do you work for, as that sounds like an idea which would come from a public servant or an MP.
Adelaide is a north - south city. It would be chaos.

The mobile crane was still in Waymouth St, still fully assembled, at about 4 pm Sunday afternoon.

So much stupidity in one post to reply...Now I know why other members generally imply you're full of shit.!

I apologise for being a bit harsh but closing down one side of King William street is not a good idea.
Priority has to be given to the people travelling north - south. When driving in Adelaide you get more green lights
if you're travelling in a north - south direction. This happens because we live in a north - south city.
If they took the crane down from the KWS side then I would imagine they would also have to close down the tram line
as well.

They'll probably just do it on a weekend, and the disruption to those poor souls that have absolutely no other possible choice for travelling north-south can be minimised. KWS is quite regularly closed for various events.

Nathan, the crane has already come down, but there's still a fair bit of work to do.
I would imagine now the work will focus on :
1) Installing the roof
2) Getting the internal elevator working.
3) Removing the hoist
4) Installing the glass panels at the front of the building.

Synergy Construct have said on their Twitter account that the lift shaft for this building is 92.8 metres tall.

So 25 years after Australis House was completed, we've finally built something taller?*
Excellent.
*Disregarding that ugly spire on the ANZ building.

92.8m is to basement level. Dont forget the 1 level of basement this building had. So close to 90m is correct...

Are you sure? It's been mentioned now on both their Facebook and Twitter that this is Adelaide's fourth tallest building, and they have said "The top of the lift shaft is 92.8m tall". The word "top" seems like a grammatically weird thing to say if they're just referring to the total height of the lift shaft (ie - including underground).

The elevator infront of the building that the workers have been using has been coming down.

It goes up and down, it's an elevator.
