Thanks for clarify babes.

The balcony detail is cool though I hope it’s finished well otherwise it will look cheap.

The red and blue accents are nice

In a somewhat pleasing development, it looks as though (based on more recent interior renders) the Mall Hall will be extended into this development at ground level (i.e. bitumen laneways with stalls).

I believe Market hall was always expected to take up around 40% of the new footprint, in a style that makes the extension almost identical to the current market floor.

Hurrah for expanding the market stalls. It's supposedly the largest undercover market in the Southern Hemisphere but to me always felt a bit underwhelming. This redevelopment provides the opportunity to make it something special.

That ACC questionnaire posted by Andy a few pages back was an interesting insight into what they're mulling over in terms of kinds of stalls for the new area. Seems like there will be more specialty/boutique/local producer offerings.

The laneway between Gouger & Grote is going to be a huge asset too, in terms of opening up access and easing congestion. Here's a pic I took of it yesterday compared to the artist impression. It's exciting to see it all coming together.

Still think those little pod things over the laneway are a mistake. Makes it claustrophobic.

Fair call. What's the thinking with these, just extra floorspace for the cafes/eateries on the first level?

I really don’t mind them to be honest.

I think it'll add to the vibe in the street.
More concerning is the office building component, the whole thing looks like something built decades ago that has received a make over.
Hopefully turns out much better then the renders.

My issue with the balconies is the fact that they're fully exposed. So they'll either not be in use during the winter months or be subject to crappy hospitality-grade umbrellas. There is no alternative, though, because the installation of awnings will ruin the aesthetic of this build.

Even if exposed they can still be used in winter if there are heaters, just not when it's raining. I like the design.
