Could be even more cranes on Greenhill Road in future with 11 story apartment project at 217/218, new 6 story hospital at 203, new 11 apartment project at 162/164 and an 8 story apartment at 70 Greenhill Rd. Demolition of the existing office at 70 Greenhill Rd has commenced this week.

Quick skim of the thread, it seems we are at the equal record number of cranes of 21 in modern times. Last time this was achieved was back in 2008.

However, I think the record still belongs to the construction boom of the mid-late 80s when we had around 24? Someone correct if I'm wrong.

What's likely to be the next city crane - Lot 14? Franklin Street?

Definitely a record for the suburbs but cbd at 12 is fairly average or even low for the past decade.

next city crane could be corner of Frome St and Pirie St ??

Any new CBD crane appears to be some time away - site preparation for the data centre and the office building on Franklin will take several months, and the Lot 14 and the new apartment buildings near the Adelaide market have not started.

I imagine at least one of the two cranes at SAHMRI 2 and Festival Tower will come down before any new ones are installed.
