Does the total crane count of 18 now match the record number of cranes at any one time in Adelaide?

I think 18 was reached in 2013/14? And prior to that, possibly also in the late 80s?

There is a crane base on site at 278 South Tce, (not yet concreted in).

From my own notes there has been 18 tower cranes during the following intervals :
28/7/19 to 23/9/19
29/4/19 to 18/5/19
9/3/19 to 16/3/19
17/11/18 to 7/3/19
14/7/18 22/7/18 9/9/17 11/2/17 to 10/ 25/2/17
and for some time around 4/5/13 .
These totals include both CBD cranes and suburban cranes.
However the record of 19 cranes was 22/7/18 to 25/8/18.

There have been several major projects that had many cranes such as the Remm Centre 1989 (Myers Rundle St) had 6 cranes and Flinders Medical Centre around 1974 had at least 5 cranes.

Just got a brief view whilst driving, but it seems there is a tower crane at Hindmarsh Stadium.

1 on Melbourne Street
1 at QEH
1 at The Parade
1 at Hindmarsh Stadium

I am guessing mainly due to the activity around the metro areas. The city feels active but not like it was in 2019.

There is a second crane being erected at the QEH; I think it’s time Ben to do an updated cranes list as they seem to be popping up everywhere now, especially across the metro area…
